What is your athletic background?

Growing up I would go to the gym and during college I did cycling. Very different than CrossFit classes!

What was your workout routine prior to joining Spero?

I would try to go cycling 1-2 times a week but I was not very consistent.

What was your first experience with CrossFit?

I had a Free Intro with Coach Lizzie and she explained the concept of CrossFit. She told me what an AMRAP and EMOM are. I remember that she made me do a quick simple WoD (Workout of the Day) and I thought to myself "I think I can do this", so I signed up and had my first OnRamp a few days later.

When did you start CrossFit?

About 2.5 years ago

Why did you choose Spero?

CrossFit Spero was recommended to me by a friend and she said that I would like it. Fast forward to today, I go consistently and I love the community!

What keeps you coming back?

The coaches and members. I enjoy being in a space where we all have the same goals- to push ourselves to be better than yesterday. The coaches make sure to keep me accountable for my goals (example: pull-ups) which motivated me to keep working towards those goals. Spero feels like a second family and it's the best hour of my day!

What do you do for a living?

I work at a private trading firm in the tax department.

How do you like to spend your free time?

Coming to Spero, walking my dogs or going on Bike rides.

What do you like about Oak Park?

The small shops and food!

What are one or two improvements you have seen in your life since starting CrossFit?

Being more confident and being stronger

What is the biggest change you have seen since starting CrossFit?

I am more active and I have more energy!

What are your goals for 2022?

To get one strict pull-up and eat more mindfully

What is your favorite and least favorite CrossFit movement?

My favorite movement is the Rope Climb. My least favorite movement is Cleans.

What is your favorite meal?

Steak Tacos

What would you say to someone thinking about starting CrossFit?

Do it!

Anything else you would like to share with the Spero Family?

Going to Spero is part of my daily routine and it is great!
