I actually didn't have one! I was very inactive prior to joining Spero.
What was your first experience with CrossFit?
My on-ramp class with Coach Liz where I almost passed out just from using a training bar. I was so out of shape!
When did you start CF?
A little over a year ago! And I don't plan on stopping.
Why did you choose CF Spero?
It felt like a very positive environment when I first walked in.
What keeps you coming back?
The people! It's such an amazing and supportive community. The workouts make you feel great too.

How do you like to spend your free time?
I enjoy exploring new places or staying home and playing with my cat, doing puzzles, or watching shows.

One of the immediate improvements I noticed was how much better my posture became. Another would be the mental clarity you get from being active

I think the biggest change would be my weight. I've lost 25 pounds since starting a year ago!
What are your goals for 2022?
Get a muscle up, Rx all workouts, and bonus points if I reach 15% body fat, but that's likely for 2023.
What's your favorite and least favorite CF movement?
My favorite is subject to change but right now it would be handstand pushups. My least favorite is likely wallballs.
What's your favorite meal?
Turkey bowl! Super easy to control macros with rice and turkey, and can always add/replace veggies so it never gets old.
What would you say to someone thinking about starting CF?
Don't be afraid! I was always scared to join a gym due to feeling judged but Crossfit is such a positive and egoless environment that you'll immediately feel welcome no matter your skill level. Not to mention the immeasurable positive impacts on physical and mental health.
Anything else you would like to share with the Spero family?
Thank you for being my home away from home. This is the first time I've felt really passionate about any type of sport, and it feels great!
